Competitive cities.

Competitive cities.
Maestro. Hugo A. Contreras Avendaño
Collaboration UPAEP Tehuacán.

Certainly for those who live in this city of Tehuacán, was a surprise on us aware that we could have been home to an assembly of cars like Audi and clear, with all the benefits that entails.

Especially if you take a look after the land via satellite will occupy the new assembly of the Volkswagen group, we find that San Jose Chiapa little would have to compete against a city like Tehuacán.

They were perhaps other logistical factors that led to the decision that Audi will stay there, near the capital of Puebla to jump-start the huge investment and the benefits of infrastructure.

Much we should worry that if in the coming years Tehuacán is out of this type of investment, we will be bottoming out in the competitive assessments.

The latest study by the IMCO - Mexican Institute of Competitiveness, 2012, showed that the most competitive city in Mexico's Monterrey and remains, despite all the problems of the climate of insecurity that has suffered in recent years.

The IMCO took a sample of 77 cities in which Tehuacán was ranked No. 63 after having been evaluated in topics as rule of law, environment, macroeconomics, government, factors of production, infrastructure, society, international relations and innovation.

In this study, stressed beyond Monterrey, cities of Toluca, San Luis Potosi, Queretaro, Saltillo and Ciudad de Carmen. Being as the worst Chilpancingo and Acapulco.

Tehuacán scored poorly in infrastructure development company rates, macroeconomics and international relations.

It is clear that in the future if we want Tehuacán is attractive as a city for the arrival of direct investment, domestic or foreign, will be necessary to improve the quality of urban infrastructure, and environmental communication, improving school enrollment rates and quality of life in suburban areas, and the quality of the participacipación citizen, on the macro is necessary that citizens improve their personal finances, since much of it is indebted and of course, understand that we need to aspire to world-class levels allows us to have a vision of government and business relationships with other cities, in other countries.

The IMCO proposes to Mexico City to pay attention to four basic elements: Addressing the infrastructure, the ability to be self-sufficient in tax collection, improving the quality of public services and address the quality of education.

Good challenge we have in Tehuacán, because it is work collaboratively across sectors. From there, a government strategic plan is a document not only to meet regulatory requirements, is the master document that unifies the view of those who want a competitive city.
